Lexmark Reports Earnings Gain, Updates Documents Suite

Fourth quarter revenues increased 13 percent, to $1.544 billion, and earnings were up 12 percent, to $494 million, the printer manufacturer reported.

"We achieved double-digit revenue growth in both hardware and supplies," said chairman and chief executive officer Paul Curlander in a statement. "Most importantly, we continued disciplined investment in our core strategic development and marketing initiatives to drive future growth and delivered a 28 percent year-to-year increase in EPS for the full year."

The company said laser and ink-jet printer revenue was up 16 percent year over year, while revenue from laser and inkjet supplies increased 13 percent.

The company announced that its latest Document Solutions Suite will provide users with the capability of using both printer-based and server-based electronic forms, adding that the new Lexmark Forms Card represents the function within the Lexmark Document Solutions Suite that enables the merging of data and forms within Lexmark printers and MFPs.
