Lenovo Launches New ThinkServers For SMB Clients

The TS130 and TS430 ThinkServers feature Intel's latest Intel Xeon E3-12000 processors, which offer up to 30 percent better performance than the previous generation of Xeon processors. Lenovo said the new servers are ideally suited for small business clients as affordable data center infrastructure and are also well-matched for managed service providers because of the servers' embedded remote management tools.

The TS130 replaces Lenovo's previous TS200v model and comes with Intel's AMT 7.0 manageability tools along with onboard RAID and other enterprise storage options, such as backup options like LTO and RDX tape storage. The TS130 also has a compelling price point, starting at $499, which is less than many desktop systems.

The TS430, meanwhile, is a brand new addition to the ThinkServer family. "This is a box we've built from the ground up," said Andrew Jeffries, worldwide product marketing manager for ThinkServer tower servers. "This takes Xeon to the next level. The TS430 has the most scalability of any server we offer."

The system comes with a redundant power supply and up to 16 TB of hot swap storage capacity, as well as SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) RAID data protection. The TS430 is rack-able and also offers front-side drive access. Like the TS130 ThinkServer, the TS430 has an affordable price tag that starts at $699.

Lenovo also introduced the ThinkCentre M71e desktop model for SMB clients. The new desktop model supports Intel's Sandy Bridge processors, including the Core i7 chip, and up to 8 GB of DDR3 memory. The ThinkCentre M71e can also hold a discrete graphics card, including AMD's Radeon HD 6450 1-GB card, and can support up to four separate monitors out of the box.

Lenovo said the new desktop can boot in 15 seconds, depending on software and hardware configurations, with Lenovo Enhanced Experienced 2.0
