STG Buys Global Resources' Technical Recruiting Division, Expands North American Footprint

Signature Technology Group this week completed its acquisition of Global Resources' Technical Recruiting division to fulfill its channel-focused delivery on data center services to the Northeastern U.S. region.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The completion of the deal, which closed Tuesday, marks the second major acquisition in two months for STG, which provides data center support and maintenance services to other VARs. STG acquired GlassHouse Technologies' customer support services division in November.

This latest acquisition gives the Phoenix, Ariz.-based data center services company technical recruiting and deployment services to multiple locations across the country, said Charles Layne, CEO and president of STG.

"[It] was [Global Resources'] deep technical recruiting strength and the fact that they have been focused on delivering to the channel," said Layne. "They bring the technical deployment side and also bring a managed workforce database of strong resources they can represent and deliver projects for us."

The Shrewsbury, N.J.-based company will help to improve STG's line card of services, said Layne.

"This maintenance service business is one line card, professional services as second line card and staffing and augmentation as the third line card," said Layne. "It compliments the professional services deployment function, as well as the staff augmentation option."

NEXT: Partners To Receive Technical Recruiting, Deployment Services

STG will receive both Global Resources' technical recruiting and deployment services teams, plus the company's professional services sales team. STG's Layne said the addition of those teams and practices will benefit a broad range of STG clients, from commercial enterprise and SMB to federal and state government agencies.

"This benefits our partners from the perspective they get a single shot that adds to the full-time technical employee, [and STG gets] the ability to augment our existing team with management workforce," said Layne.

Additionally, STG will provide white-labeling offers for the newly added services, said Layne. In other words, VARs can leverage Global Resources' deployment services and brand them as their own.

"[VARs] act as a reseller of our service delivery, and we act on their behalf as a subcontractor for the resell of my own brand through their model," said Layne.

With this acquisition, STG looks to continue expanding its data center support and maintenance services business across the country and partner with new VARs, Layne said.

"We're going to focus on the walls of the data center, either on- or off-premise, or in cloud," said Layne. "We're going to take care of our vendor ecosystem and our partner community."
