HPE North America Sales Chief Belanger Picks His Team, HPE Veteran Richardson To Lead Channels And Alliances

New Hewlett Packard Enterprise North America Sales Chief Dan Belanger has put a new management team in place with HPE channel chief Terry Richardson (pictured) charged with overseeing channels and alliances.

Richardson, a highly respected 30-year channel veteran who was overseeing all of the company's enterprise partner business, will now be head of channels and alliances in North America.

Partners said Richardson, who was voted as what amounts to the most popular channel chief in the industry as the winner of CRN's 2017 Channel Madness competition, is expected to drive channel improvements aimed at accelerating partner sales growth.

"This is exciting," said Raymond Tuchman, CEO of Experis Technology Group, a Potomac, Md., HPE partner. "Terry understands the channel and what needs to get done. He has been out in the field working with partners. This is a welcome change. He understands our problems."

Tuchman said he is hoping the HPE Next restructuring – which includes the removal of several layers of management throughout the company – will result in speedier decision-making, better pricing and improved partner margins.

"This needed to be done," he said. "HPE has such high overhead that it was affecting pricing in the field. I am hoping that with HPE getting rid of management layers and becoming more streamlined we can become more competitive on pricing."

Among the other Belanger appointments are: Andrew Manners, a 17-year HPE veteran to oversee Hybrid IT Sales; Jas Sood, an 18-year HPE veteran who will oversee all SMB field sales; Joe Ayers, a four-year HPE veteran and former Dell executive, to head up public sector sales; Dave Twohy, a 16-year HPE veteran, to head up Pointnext Services; Lars Wold, a 16-year HPE veteran to oversee inside sales; Peter Quirk, a seven-year HPE veteran to oversee east/central enterprise field sales; Jim Anderson, a former head of Cisco's partner-led business, to oversee service provider and west enterprise field sales; Mike Seymour, a three-year HPE veteran to oversee, telco sales; John Dathan, a 12-year HPE veteran, to continue to oversee Canada; Cheryl Brown, a 15-year HPE veteran to oversee strategy, planning and operations, and Jeffrey Nuckols to oversee the financial services industry sales.
