Veeam Offers Free Endpoint Backup Solution To IT Community

Veeam will offer a free version of its Endpoint Backup solution for Windows-based desktops and laptops to the IT community.

President and CEO Ratmir Timashev said that while backup and recovery was once seen as a luxury service, it is absolutely necessary in today’s off-premise infrastructures.

’Not only the large enterprises, but medium enterprises and SMBs, they need disaster recovery in the cloud,’ said Timashev.

The free solution is available as a download from Veeam’s website.

’What was expensive -- prohibitively expensive -- is now affordable for cloud technologies,’ he said.

Veeam’s Endpoint Backup is just one of its portfolio of services in an industry that Timashev described as ’in turmoil.’ He talked to CRNtv about the importance to switching to the recurring revenue-based service model.

’Our goal is to enable our partners to become service providers. So the whole industry is shifting towards providing more services in the cloud, through the cloud, and we would like to enable our reselling partners to become service providers,’ said Timashev.
