CRN Exclusive: Axway Aims To Boost IoT Channel With Data Integration Platform

Axway on Thursday launched its new Internet of Things (IoT) data integration and engagement platform, Axway Amplify, for channel partners to discover and manage new IoT opportunities.

"This platform will enable partners to monetize [IoT] and build connectors and accelerators," said Mike Dayton, senior vice president of Global Alliances and Channels. "It represents a more lucrative way to monetize their vertical [industry] expertise.

"We see a number of partners doing work in the Internet of Things, and as we expand into markets like IoT and industrial IoT, we're looking for more partners in those segments who can help us get to market more quickly."

Axway says its Amplify platform offers a unified, secure environment, both in the cloud and on-premises, for digital teams to create, run and scale API-enabled services.

Customers also gain access to an open marketplace where they can discover, share and monetize an extensive catalog of prebuilt services and ’service accelerators" – a customizable set of templates with complete API documentation that can be used to bootstrap new services.

The platform has an array of capabilities, including an Agile, secure and scalable data integration infrastructure. This would help DevOps teams convert disparate, disconnected data sets into configurable and API-enabled services. The platform also includes full lifecycle API management, app development, and embedded analytics tools.

The company is also offering a community management tool as part of its platform to reduce the on-boarding time for partners and developers, as well as lightening the load for IT to deliver common workflows and self-service capabilities.

"Community management is a feature that makes us differentiated," said Suraj Kumar, VP and GM of Platform as a Service at Axway. "This is where the partner play can come in for particular enterprises. Our Community management solution optimizes the process of bringing people on board."

Data orchestration is another key tool that Axway's Amplify platform offers to help customers keep up with the distributed diverse data sets that are inherent in the Internet of Things.

"With IoT, the challenge is that you get highly distributed, diverse data sets, and that adds complexity into the data integration," said Kumar. "The data orchestration capability helps customers integrate data seamlessly and provides a set of connectors to tap into not just the IoT sources, but also feed those into the back end systems."

Kevin Kohut, Global API Strategy Lead at Accenture, said in a statement that Amplify helps boost customer digital transformation through APIs.

’At Accenture, we encourage our clients to take a consumption-driven approach as we help them with their digital transformation journeys. Key to success is building a true customer experience network, empowered by APIs," he said. "We're excited about the potential of Axway’s Amplify platform to support an organization's digital transformation by harnessing the power of APIs, combined with tools that empower digital interaction, which ultimately drives engagement, loyalty and revenue growth.’
