Level Platforms, a Canadian-based remote monitoring and management (RMM) vendor, has announced integration of its platform with that of Long Beach, Calif-based Docuwise, in a move that expands the ability to execute managed print and device discovery capabilities from a single pane of glass.
"Managed Workplace, which is our RMM platform, is used to monitor and manage any kind of device on the customer networks, including servers, routers, switches, PCs and printers," said Carlson Colomb, business development director at Level Platforms. "Docuwise has a platform called PESO, the Print Environment System Organizer, which is their portal for providing quotes and fulfilling management and services offerings. So we've enabled Level Platforms partners to leverage this combination into an integrated control panel that can now delve more deeply into the managed print space. Our partners can leverage this towards a turnkey white label print services fulfillment for their end customers."
According to Colomb, this initiative enables managed services providers (MSPs) to operate and monitor the entire print management ecosystem, including page rates, toner levels and overall device management for a wide range of printer vendors. The combined system can also discover printers and imaging devices and provide alerts on glitches such as paper jams. Other capabilities include remote functionality for recycling a printer, pushing firmware updates and data gathering.
"I want to be clear that we are not white labeling Docuwise," said Colomb. "This is an integration of the two systems."
Over the past few years, managed print services have emerged as a viable business option for managed service providers seeking new opportunities to enhance services and establish stronger customer touch leveraging technologies that do not require extensive training.
"I think a lot of MSPs are looking for additional ways to entrench themselves and differentiate their services offerings to become that one-stop shop for their customers," said Colomb. "This is a market that we think will grow significantly, and that we believe will eventually become a de facto standard offering. Printers are effectively just another IP device on the network, so it's a very compatible model." Level Platforms claims a customer list that includes thousands of IT service providers around the world that support small and midsized businesses.
