Continuum Releases New Sync247 Product For MSPs

Continuum, a company that provides tools for MSPs including RMM and a 24/7 NOC, added a new product to its portfolio Monday at its Navigate conference in Boston that's focused on an MSP-centric file sync and share platform

The new product, named ’Sync247,’ claims to be the only platform of its kind tailored to managed service providers. It’s a white label, secure file sync and share collaboration tool that can be offered to existing or new clients to generate more revenue. It offers file backup measures right into the cloud.

Adrianna Gugel, product manager for the project, said the average employee uses more than three devices to get their job done. In 2015, 45 percent of small medium businesses will use file sync and share products. But before the release of this product, she said it was difficult for MSPs to find a way to make money off of those services.

She said this technology is secure and packaged for the channel and built with business in mind.

Gary Harlam, owner of the Warwick, R.I.-based Technology Advisory Group, spoke about the importance as an MSP of staying involved with your clients network connections. He’s been a beta tester of this new product since June and said it has significantly helped his client base.

’As an MSP, we feel we need to be in control,’ he said, noting MSPs have to offer these services to customers before they start using less secure, consumer-oriented services out there.

’Our responsibility is to make sure the product does not only do what they want it to do but to make sure it’s secure,’ he said.

Continuum CEO Michael George told CRN this is a major development for MSPs ’spreading like wildfire,’ even though its official release was Monday.

’The others out there are really Dropbox or Box and those are consumer products. They have two fundamental problems,’ he said. ’An MSP doesn’t make any money with them and the second is they have security issues that were never addressed because it was never designed to be an enterprise platform.’
