Intel Names Winners Of Core i7 Custom Desktop Challenge

its Core i7 Custom Desktop Challenge

Contestants were challenged to build custom desktop PCs powered by Intel's Core i7 and Core i5 processors, with winners selected in six categories by employees of the Santa Clara, Calif.-based chip giant and a panel of sponsors.

Best in Show winner 'Duck'.

The "Best in Show" award went a Japanese entry, "Duck" -- a literal example of "outside-the-box" design that uses dry ice to cool the Core i7-870 processor powering this extreme gaming rig. The "People's Choice" award went "OS Xbox Pro," a mini-PC from the United States that was also named Best in Country for the US.
