Blogosphere Looks Forward To Windows Phone 7 Devices

Website Neowin.net is reporting that the long awaited devices will hit retail store shelves on Oct. 21 in Europe. Samsung, LG and HTC are all expected to unveil devices.

Microsoft had not returned a call at press time regarding when the new Windows Phone 7 devices will be available.

Users on Microsoft's Windows blog, which announced on Sept. 1 release to manufacturing of Windows Phone 7, say the new devices stand out from the software giant's previous Windows Phone offerings.

"Congratulations on finally releasing the phone," wrote WP Fan in a post on Microsoft's Windows Phone blog. "Live Tiles is a great concept and I would definitely want to have this on my tablet."

Live Tiles is one of the most eagerly awaited new capabilities of Windows Phone 7 devices. The new Live Tiles capability allows users to arrange rectangular or square tiles by tapping or holding them much like Apple's hot-selling iPad.

Microsoft's new Windows Phone 7 philosophy stands out when compared with the Apple iPhone or Android based phones, said a user referring to himself as Nightdev on the Microsoft blog.

Praising Live Tiles, the user said: "People who say it's too late for Microsoft to fix itself is [sic] delusional; Microsoft is well known for making very successful products after some failed attempts... As long as they see a potential interest or market. Let's just hope they continue to listen to the customers :)"

The Windows Phone 7 launch comes after Microsoft earlier this year killed its one-time, highly touted KIN phones after disappointing sales of the products.
