The Aspire TimelineX 1830T-58U118 weighs just over 3 pounds and includes an HD LED-backlit display, the low-voltage Core i7 CPU, a 500GB hard drive and integrated Bluetooth, and up to 8 hours of battery life.

Though the Timeline X features a slower, ultra low-voltage (ULV) version of the Core i7 compared to most laptops, it also offers four cores. Like other Intel i5 and i7 Cores, it also comes with Turbo Boost, an Intel technology that lets processor cores run faster than the base operating frequency automatically, if operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits.

The TimelineX 1830T is also available with a less powerful Core i3 or Core i5 ULV processor for the same amount of system memory and storage.

Other models of the TimelineX unveiled on Monday include the 13.3-inch 3820T, the 14-inch 4820T, and the 15.6-inch 5820T, all of the containing the conventional, non-ULV Intel core processors.

The 3820T is available with either Core i3 processor and 3GB, or the alternative i5 chips with 4GB of RAM. In exchange for a bit more bulk, Acer customers can also get the 4820T and 5820T with DVD drives, and, in the latter case, a numeric pad, both for $699.99.

Acer also launched a number of laptops from its gaming-oriented Aspire line on Monday, including the new 3D model, the 15.6-inch Aspire AS5742G with a 120Hz LCD, requiring 3D glasses for a full-resolution display in three dimensions. Other new models include: the Aspire AS5745, Aspire AS7745 and the Aspire AS8943G, which features an 18.4-inch display, Core i7 processor and the Radeon 5850 GPU from ATI, starting at $1, 499.99.
