Gateway on Monday rolled out three new entertainment-oriented notebook PCs in its NV product line, each of which runs AMDs Fusion APUs, which offer integrated graphics on the CPU.

Gateways flagship NVS 51B05u model features a dual-core AMD E-350 Fusion processor, code-named Zacate, running alongside an AMD Radeon HD 6310 discrete graphics card. With both an integrated CPU-GPU solution and a standalone GPU in the same system, Gateway is looking to attract customers with improved gaming performance and online video streaming. In addition, the NV line targets both consumers and enterprise users.

Mobile computing is something that everyone has embraced -- and even those on a tight budget are now able to have a full-featured notebook for computing and staying in touch on-the-go, said Eric Ackerson, senior product marketing manager for Gateway notebooks, in a statement. The new computing capabilities are paired with a full suite of features and extras that give our customers what they need to work, study, connect and have fun. Plus, weve reached a new level of affordability with budget-minded price tags, so our customers get an incredible bang for their buck.

For customers with less GPU-intensive workloads, the NV 51802u notebook from Gateway runs on the E-350 APU alone. It includes 2 GB of DDR3 memory and a 320-GB hard drive running at up to 5,400 rpm. Like the NVS 51B05, the cheaper NV 51B02u features a 15.6-inch LED-backlit display with 1366768 pixel resolution, as well as 3 USB ports. Finally, a third model in the NV product family, the low-end NV51B08 laptop will also receive an AMD Fusion refresh. Gateway said its NV51B08 will feature the low-power 1 GHz AMD C-50 Fusion processor, codenamed Ontario, when it comes to market in the weeks ahead.

Each of the NV-series Gateway laptops includes the 15.6-inch widescreen displays, along with a 1.3-megapixel webcam, built-in Wi-Fi and HDMI support, and multi-touch trackpads with gesture control capability as well as dedicated numeric keypads. The updated Gateway notebooks also feature integrated card readers allowing users to pull their photos and videos from Secure Digital (SD) and ATI Multimedia (MMC) video cards, as well as a built-in DVD optical drive allowing users to copy files onto Dual-Layer disc.

The Zacate-powered Gateway NV51B02u and NV51B05u are both available from Gateway at a starting price of $449 and $469 respectively. The Ontario-powered Gateway NV51B08u will start at an estimated $399.99, according to Gateway.
