HP Adds All-In-One PC To Elite Business Desktop Line

potential plans to spin-off

The 8200 Elite runs select Intel Sandy Bridge chips, including both Core and Pentium processors, and features a 23-inch anti-glare LCD screen that supports full HD at a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Three internal drive storage options include 80- to 100-GB solid state, 320-GB SATA SED or 250-GB to 1-TB SATA. HP has also included an integrated high-definition webcam, two audio speakers and a microphone into the chassis.

The HP Compaq 8200 Elite is targeted at business customers with the addition of the vPro technology from Intel, which allows remote management of the machine. The 8200 Elite is the first business PC in the all-in-one category offering vPro, said HP Product manager Greg Morris in an HP marketing video. He added that the form factor improves energy efficiency over traditional desktop PC models.

"It's a monitor with a PC combined into a single package to provide a very energy efficient solution in your organization," Morris said in the video. "This new all-in-one chassis completes our offering of various form factors to meet any need that you might have for expansion or space."

The 8200 Elite weighs at least 18.7 lb and has a depth of 8.66 inches with a height of 18.58 inches. It is now available in the U.S. for $999.
