Ingram Micro: Data, Application Access Key For Mobile Solutions

Instead of focusing on the delivery of handsets, endpoints, activations and carrier services, Ingram Micro says the more important element is helping businesses access their data and applications from any device.

"In this environment, mobility is about accessing information from wherever you are," said Ken Bast, vice president and general manager of Ingram Micro's Advanced Technology Division, in an interview with CRN TV.

Bast added that if Ingram Micro can make it easy for solution providers to add mobile integration and application development services, then he expects more channel partners to enter the field. Ingram Micro launched its Mobile Business Unit in March to take advantage of the growth of smartphone, tablet and mobile applications.
