ViewSonic Eyes Tablet, Mobility Channel Plays

The company has already launched several Android and Windows-based tablets, including the new ViewPad models unveiled at CES 2012 earlier this year. Now ViewSonic is looking to strengthen its channel presence around these mobile devices.

Jeff Volpe, president of ViewSonic Americas, told CRN TV his company has evolved its partner strategy to help solution providers build new businesses around mobile devices and take advantage of trends like bring-your-own-device and connected devices.

"We think there's a nice synergy and a natural extension from our desktop business into these new devices," Volpe said. "As we move to the future, we have to try to knock down a couple of these trends together with our resellers."

Volpe also said ViewSonic this year is bringing new partner program offerings for mobile devices with opportunities for software and application development, which will help partners add solutions to the devices.
