Demo: A Hot Wearable From Embr Labs

Wristify could be called the hottest -- or coolest -- wearable technology to come out of the East Coast startup scene. The new gadget from Cambridge, Mass.-based Embr Labs is geared toward anyone who constantly finds themselves feeling more hot or cold than their immediate peers.

’We are people who are constantly feeling too cold in our offices, too warm when we’re working out, and we are developing wearable technology that doesn’t just track information, or give you information back,’ said Embr Labs’ David Cohen Tanugi.

Wristify is the brainchild of four MIT engineers who wanted to mimic the sensation of ’having an ice pack on your wrist.’ While the prototype is primarily aimed at letting people control their own level of comfort in public settings, the team said the ultimate goal is to reduce energy consumption through letting people control their own personal heating and cooling, rather than heating and cooling an entire building.
