7 Weird Scenes From CES 2015

/**/ /**/

Spend enough time on the show floor of CES and you’re going to see some strange sights. CRNtv documented some of the weirder things we saw on the floor, from socially awkward robots to a human hamster wheel.

There were a ton of robots and artificial intelligence products at CES, but Toshiba’s female prototype robot drew a big audience. That might be because she described herself as ’containing the DNA’ of Toshiba’s founder, a cringe-worthy thing to hear from the 5-foot, 5-inch’ ’32-year-old’ robot.

One company, Parrot, seemed to go out of its way to grab attention with oddball exhibits. The biggest one was a human hamster wheel, which served to demonstrated the Parrot Zik Sport application, a fitness tracker.

Japanese massage chair company Fujiiryoki drew a crowd to its booth with its strange, vibrating dance-boards -- and its hired, high-energy dancers.

Other weird scenes included a model trying on clothing in a virtual booth, an enormous video-robot that patrolled over several smaller models, and Hisense’s immersive driving video game. Last but not least, there was the often-ignored but always-friendly "tablet man."
