Dell's New Venue 8 7000: Small Tablet Packs A Big Punch

Dell’s new tablet, the lightweight Venue 8 7000, took home CES' Best of Innovation Award and boasts several flashy features.

Dell calls the Venue 8 7000, which made its debut in Vegas at CES 2015, the "world's thinnest tablet" at just 6 mm. The incredibly light tablet packs big sound with front-mounted speakers, as well as front- and rear-facing cameras.

The Venue 8 displays sharp pictures in 2,560-x-1,600 OLED resolution, but the big draw to the tablet is the Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera. Intel pushed its RealSense technology to the forefront of its CES keynote. With the Venue 8, users can employ the Snapshot Depth Camera to edit photographs' focus, color range and contrast, and several other features, without outside applications.
