Intel has significantly upped its cool factor with the RealSense line of innovation, a group focused on technology that interacts more naturally with users. At the Channel Company’s XChange 2015 conference, CRNtv caught up with Intel for a closer look at the RealSense camera.

"We've got some neat features that come with the RealSense camera. It's a 3-D camera so it allows depth of field in photos," said Intel's Blake Sweeten.

The camera is built for tablets equipped with RealSense Snapshot. Together the solutions take pictures in layers, meaning the photographer can change the point of focus after taking the picture with a simple tap on the tablet screen.

"So you can either focus on something closer, or you select something in the background and you can focus on that as well," Sweeten demonstrated.

With the solution, users also can select two different points within a photo and measure the actual distance between them. That tool comes in handy when measuring real-world dimensions in professional field cases like interior design and architecture.

Intel RealSense Snapshot is currently available in the Dell Venue 8 7000 Series Tablet.
