HP Inc. Offers Souped-Up Alternative to Traditional Hospital Workstations

HP Inc. has various verticals in its sights for product development, and health care is no exception. The ElitePad HealthCare Tablet is a portable solution the company hopes will replace clunky, inefficient carted monitors and workstations.

HP Inc.’s Martin Carballo called current hospital technology ’very impersonal.’

’This [technology] is kind of making them lose a lot of productivity and interaction. What if you put that experience into a tablet?’ he added.

The ElitePad HealthCare Tablet has a built-in scanner, meaning hospital workers don’t need the bulk of all those accessories. It’s built with rounded edges, a pen clip and hand strap, so doctors and nurses can handle it with ease.

It’s also dust- and water-resistant, and easy to keep clean, which is important in hospitals. ’This is an anti-microbial material, and it’s sealed, so you can actually wash it with soap,’ Carballo said.

’It’s more personal and more connected,’ he said.
