Panasonic Debuts Toughpad FZ-Q1 At CES 2016

Panasonic unveiled a new business-grade tablet in its Toughpad line at CES in Las Vegas Tuesday, the Toughpad FZ-Q1.

The 12.5-inch ruggedized tablet is geared toward the health, transportation and retail verticals as well as the SMB market. The FZ-Q1 is set to launch in March and will run Windows 8.1.

Panasonic President Yasu Enokido said the tablet will ’allow increased gathering, sharing and accessing information, both in government and private sector applications.’

’It provides the reliability, usability and security that businesses require, as well as service infrastructures,’ he said.

The tablet features a detachable keyboard and USB 3.0 and Micro SDXC ports. It has two cameras, both front- and rear-facing. Panasonic has promised longer battery life in the tablet, as well as a screen suitable for outdoor use. The display has 10-point multitouch and a resolution of 1,080p.

Panasonic will make two versions of the tablet available. The standard edition will start at $1,000, and the performance version will have a price tag of $1,700.
