The Consumer Electronics Show always provides tons of entertainment for conference-goers, andCES 2016didn’t disappoint in theweirdness department.

Virtual reality was a huge trend on the show floor, with gamers dominating the technology. Video game enthusiasts tried out virtual reality headsets as they simulated driving cars and going into war zones with others. It was probably really fun for users to play, but it was really strange to watch.

Vendors seemed obsessed with showcasing sensors and connected technology through feats of human strength and bravery. Super-fit athletes swung around a giant jungle gym for Panasonic, and camera companies used skateboarders and BMXers to showcase how their products withstood drops.

Intel’s booth was full of strange sights, from wearable technology and fashion to demonstrations of its interactive RealSense technology.

Waterfalls were also a big component of booths on the show floor, whether they were connected to automated sensors or demonstrating waterproofed gadgets.

But overall, the weirdest thing CRNtv saw had to be the IoT-enabled at-home pregnancy test. Cheers to you, Qualcomm.
