Donald Trump Likeness In Virtual Reality Demo

Donald Trump fell victim to virtual reality hijinks at an MIT hackathon this week, where the presidential candidate’s likeness was manipulated through a virtual reality application designed to replicate clay.

’We created a mesh, and you can import any object you want, and you can manipulate it just as you would clay or Play-doh,’ said Sean Dekkers, senior designer at IDEO who helped develop the application.

With the application, the user can put on a VR headset and "mold" an object like clay. In this case, that object was Trump’s face.

Dekkers built the software for HTC Vive.

’It’s perfect for this sort of thing, mostly because it’s real-room scale, high-fidelity, and really, really fast, and people really love it,’ he said.

In addition, users can save the image they manipulate and export it to a 3-D printer.
