The CRNtv Test Center Holiday Gift Guide 2016

If you've got a gadget lover in your life, you've got some pretty strong options this year for holiday gifts. At the CRN Test Center, we've rounded up four gifts for less than $100 for you to consider.

First off, why complicate things when there's a new version of the Kindle available? Amazon launched a refreshed version of the base model Kindle in June, which is lighter, thinner and faster than the previous generation of the e-reader. And at $80 it's the same price as the previous Kindle.

Not to go too Amazon-crazy here, but we think the Amazon Echo Dot is another top gift choice this year. Think of it as Echo Jr. -- it's got a lot of the same capabilities of the voice-controlled Amazon Echo speaker, such as the ability to ask for news and weather updates or to play music. The speaker is just not as powerful as the original, but it's much smaller and much less expensive at $50.

Most of the gifts on this list should endear you to your friends and family, but giving the SleepPhones Wireless Headphones might actually make you a hero. For people who have trouble sleeping, or just long for a better way to listen to audio in bed, SleepPhones Wireless offers a solution by hiding Bluetooth headphones inside a comfy headband. The headphones are priced at $100.

Lastly, let's not forget that tech is supposed to be fun too. The Zoomer Chimp is a robotic toy packed with enough technology to actually interact with its users. Zoomer Chimp follows voice commands and can "play" with users by following their hand movements. The toy is also designed to not be totally predictable in its movements, so it doesn't get repetitive. For all those people on your list who always claim they want a monkey as a pet, the Zoomer Chimp is available for $84.
