Mobility Minute: Business Users Will Benefit By Leveraging IoT

From mobile devices, digital signage, wearables, and smartphone hubs – Samsung already has a broad portfolio of connected technology. But is there more that business users can be doing to get involved in leveraging the growing demand for IoT?

Ed Abrams, VP of Enterprise IoT at Samsung, said that implementing an IoT management platform will allow customers to have a complete solution at their fingertips.

"Some of the things that people don’t realize is that Samsung offers a lot more than mobile devices and displays. From an IoT perspective, we offer a core set of technologies that include cloud-computing, artificial intelligence, an IoT operating system, an IoT management platform – all of which can manage not only our devices and sensors like wearables, but really anything that’s on the market today," said Abrams.

By combining technologies – like the ARTIK IoT platform or Tizen operating system – enterprises can develop impactful business solutions for their customers.

"How to be successful when thinking about IoT solutions," Abrams said, "is making sure you think big. Make sure you have your end goal in mind. Ultimately, where do you want to be? What problem are you trying to solve? What data do you need?"

IoT is being considered the new norm, and solution providers should aim to create powerful IoT solutions to solve their customer's business problems. Doing this will create opportunities for companies to sell services, and increase margins.
