Classic features include the seven-row keyboard, removable battery and dedicated volume buttons.

The multicolored ThinkPad logo and blue "Enter" button are back, too.

Don't worry, though, Lenovo isn't resurrecting the form factor of the original 2-inch ThinkPad. The Anniversary Edition is built on the ThinkPad T470 frame.

Other current features include a touch screen, a seventh-gen Core i7 processor, and 16 GB of RAM.So, this is very much a modern workhorse laptop under the hood.

There's also a facial recognition camera and fingerprint reader for meeting present-day security standards.

The pricing is up there, at $1,900, and supplies are expected to be limited.

We found the performance on the Anniversary Edition to be excellent, and we like the retro aesthetic.

It's certainly a niche product but loyalists should be pleased with the results.
