GRIC To Acquire Axcelerant

GRIC, Milpitas, Calif., said it expects to bundle its hosted remote access solution, MobileOffice, with Axcelerant's VPN/security technology and network management features to enhance the security and manageability of mobile and remote workers.

"This is an important step that advances our goal of becoming the leading provider of enterprise mobility solutions for outside the corporate firewall," said Bharat Dave, president and CEO of GRIC, in a statement.

The deal is expected to close in fourth quarter 2003 and has been approved by the boards of both GRIC and Irvine, Calif.-based Axcelerant.
