Oculan Names New CEO

Davis served as president and CEO at Oculan in an interim capacity after his predecessor, Steve Giles, left the network management vendor in November to launch an undisclosed startup company, according to an Oculan spokesman.

Previously, Davis served as president and CEO of network management vendor Tavve Software. Former posts also include vice president and general manager for IBM Tivoli and several positions at Lucent, including vice president of sales.

The Raleigh-based vendor's offerings combine remote managed services with appliances that collect data at the customer site. Users pay a monthly subscription fee for the service.

Oculan targets small and midsize customers, selling exclusively through a channel of more than 200 partners.
