Opsware To Unveil Software To Track Data Center Spending

The new Data Center Intelligence (DCI) software will be bundled with Opsware System 4.0, due out this fall, and promises to track where and how IT dollars are being spent across all data centers, according to Opsware, Sunnyvale, Calif.

The DCI software tracks IT investments made in technology assets and labor productivity, and how effectively these assets are being used to support the business, the company said.

The DCI software also provides a central view into operations activities and server and software usage across all data centers. In addition, it provides information on current and historical server configurations, patch levels, active vs. decommissioned servers, technology versions and other data operations.

Pricing for the DCI software has not yet been released.
