Voyence's Channel Efforts Draw Partners From U.S., Canada

As the network-configuration and change-management markets continue to expand, configuration-management vendor Voyence last week launched a partner program with eight certified resellers in the United States and Canada (see chart).

Executives at Richardson, Texas-based Voyence said they hoped that the new program would increase the company's reach in the network-management market and expand its customer base. According to Mary Morgan, Voyence's vice president of worldwide sales, the program also will boast formal training, lead-generation efforts, and pre- and post-sales support.

"We hope this program takes our sales to the next level," Morgan said. "We'll educate [resellers] about our product, and they'll educate us on best practices to increase adoption across the board."

Voyence, itself a certified systems integrator of Hewlett-Packard's OpenView, sells two main products: VoyenceControl, which enables customers to maintain networks and automate network management; and VoyencePredict, which allows for the optimization and deployment of network resources.

The company rounded out its product suite when it purchased configuration- management firm Ponte Communications in September, folding all three services into a value-added solution called Voyence-Solution.

Many of the company's new channel partners said they were most excited about working with this particular component of the Voyence line.

Mark Melillo, CEO of Melillo Consulting, said that because of Voyence-Solution, Voyence was a "natural choice" to help his company meet its customers' increasing need for scalable network-configuration-management solutions.

Edward Pham, president of RealIT Management, agreed, saying that the Voyence partnership would enable his company to supplement its offerings with services it has lacked.

"We want to offer our customers as complete of a solution as possible," said Pham. "To have a product that enables you to take control of your network in a multilayered environment is key in today's industry, and we are delighted to be able to offer that service."
