3Com Wins $3.39M In Fraud Case Against Former Channel Partner

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice held Intelligent Decisions liable for deceit, finding that the Canadian reseller fraudulently induced 3Com to issue special pricing quotes for its products by falsifying government invoices, according to a 3Com statement.

The court awarded 3Com $3.39 million in principal damages and dismissed counterclaims against the Marlborough, Mass.-based vendor.

Intelligent Decisions is not affiliated with U.S. solution provider Intelligent Decisions, Chantilly, Va.

"This a significant victory because it reflects our willingness to investigate and aggressively prosecute fraud committed against 3Com in order to protect the company and maintain our corporate and brand reputation in the channel and networking industry," said Neal Goldman, 3Com's senior vice president and general counsel, in the statement.
