Google Opens Up VoIP Service

Google Talk, which makes voice calls over the Internet and sends instant messages, had been limited to people who use Gmail. The search engine on Thursday decided to drop the requirement to encourage more people to sign up for the service.

Some features, however, remain limited to people with Gmail accounts. Those include chat histories and mail notifications.
