Qwest Offers Free Mobile E-Mail

Communications e-mail SMS

Qwest's new service does not require paid subscriptions to data plans or the purchase of new equipment. Users receive and reply to e-mail from any text-messaging-capable wireless phone.

Denver-based Qwest offers its broadband customers email contact management with the free mobile service. Qwest Connect with Windows Live lets customers use their Windows Live Contacts list to select only the contacts they would like to receive e-mails from on their wireless phone. Customers can set various parameters through site controls, for example: selecting which senders messages will be forwarded to their wireless handsets; specifying how frequently they receive new messages; and determining the total length of messages that will be received. While the subscription to the service is free, standard text messaging fees apply for all e-mails received on wireless phones.

Messages that users decide to receive from the Qwest/Teleflip service will contain a sponsor message.
