Hewlett-Packard's ProCurve Networking division on Monday added four new switches to its 3500 switch series the company said cuts hardware and maintenance costs while easing network management and boosting application performance.

According to ProCurve, the four new 3500 10/100 switches are built for enterprise-edge deployments that don't require Gigabit throughput, including IP telephony, physical security and wireless.

In addition, ProCurve said the future-proofing capabilities of the HP ProCurve 3500 10/100 let users upgrade the network as business grows, while also offering investment protection through ProCurve's lifetime software updates and the ability to upgrade to premium software. The new standards-based switches can be deployed in existing multivendor networks.

The new 3500 10/100 switches come in four models: 24- and 48-port and 24- and 48-port with PoE.

The switches also come with ProCurve's lifetime warranty.

The four new switches will be available July 1. The 24-port lists for $2,449 or $3,099 with PoE, and the 48-port version lists for $4,099, or $5,299 with PoE.
