Cisco Partner Summit: Big Discounts On Tandberg 'Starter Kit'

The deal includes Tandberg EX90 personal telepresence endpoints, several high-definition Webcams and more than 50 Tandberg Movi licenses for PCs.

That kind of package, normally priced around $40,000, will be available to VARs for less than $13,000, Cisco confirmed.

Taking the stage Tuesday at the Cisco Partner Summit, Cisco's Keith Goodwin, senior vice president of worldwide channels, and former Tandberg CEO Fredrik Halvorsen, now senior vice president of Cisco's TelePresence Technology Group, said that all partners attending Partner Summit either virtually or in-person would be able to take advantage of the discount.

Cisco's recently completed acquisition of Tandberg vaults Cisco to the position of No. 1 in worldwide market share for most videoconferencing products, and also fills in gaps in Cisco's video portfolio below its high-end TelePresence line. The discounts suggest the combined companies will move quickly to re-establish market dominance while rivals like Polycom and LifeSize expand their product portfolios and channel programs to compete.
