World Telecom Group (WTG) on Monday confirmed several SVP- and VP-level promotions as the master agency continues to expand its executive team.
Mark Sondergaard, most recently vice president of sales, will become senior vice president of provider relations as of Nov. 1. He will continue to report to WTG CEO Vince Bradley and will now manage WTG's strategic provider partner relationships within the channel. A 26-year telecom sales veteran, Sondergaard has been with WTG since 2009 and before that held a number of roles at Sprint and McLeod USA.
Succeeding Sondergaard as vice president of sales is Susan Penevolpe, who also will report to Bradley. Penevolpe joins WTG from West IP Communications, where she was a channel development manager, and has been in the telecom channel since 1993, specializing in hosted and cloud service deployments starting 10 years ago thanks to her work with GoBeam/Covad and later Smoothstone, which was acquired by West in 2011.
In a statement, Bradley said that Sondergaard's expertise would "take our provider relationships to the next level," while the addition of Susan would make "WTG's sales lineup unstoppable."
WTG has sought to position itself at the convergence of telecom agents and the IT VAR channel, and in recent years has expanded its businesses beyond connectivity services into areas such as content delivery network solutions, per its recent agreement with Olympusat Telecom, and energy management sales through its Energent division.
