Channel Veteran Vitagliano Leaving Juniper

Frank Vitagliano, Juniper Network's senior vice president of Americas Partners and one of the channel's most well-known executives, is leaving the company, CRN has learned.

According to an internal Juniper memo written by Emilio Umeoka, senior vice president of worldwide partners at Juniper, and obtained by CRN, Vitagliano's last day will by March 31st. Umeoka said a search for a new head of Americas Partners in already underway, with both internal and external candidates being considered for the position.

The note said Vitagliano is leaving the company to "pursue other opportunities."

Umeoka wrote that he has been working closely with Vitagliano to ensure a smooth transition for both Juniper's channel team and partners.

During his seven years in the role, Vitagliano was responsible for overseeing all of Juniper's partner relationships in the Americas. Prior to his role at Juniper, Vitagliano spent many years at IBM, where he most recently served as vice president, Worldwide Distribution Channels.

Juniper confirmed Vitagliano is departing the company. "We can confirm that Frank will be leaving Juniper to pursue other career opportunities," wrote Cindy Ta, director of corporate communications at Juniper, in a statement to CRN." We thank him for his many contributions and wish him the best."

Umeoka's letter to Juniper employees is posted below in its entirety.

"Team,

I wanted to let you know that Frank Vitagliano, VP of Americas Partners, will be leaving Juniper to pursue other opportunities. During his 7 year tenure, Frank has helped to develop the Americas Partners team and create a foundation for growth across the partner community. I personally want to thank him for his leadership and wish him all the best in his new endeavors. Frank’s last day with the company will be March 31st.

Over the last few months, Frank and I have been working on a seamless transition plan for his team and our partners. This will ensure that we all stay focused on our plan for Q1 and our longer term commitments. I am excited about the opportunities ahead for us and look forward to continuing to drive growth for Juniper in the year ahead.
