Procera Networks Nabs Former F5 Sales Leader To Drive Virtualization, Cloud Offerings

Procera Networks has hired former F5 Networks sales leader Tom Carter to lead the telecom software provider's global sales and services.

As the new senior vice president of global sales and services, Carter (pictured) is responsible for extending Procera's virtualization and cloud offerings on a global scale, as well as driving the vendor's overall sales objectives.

"There's no doubt that Procera is leading in the virtualization space," Carter said in a statement. "The company had its best year to date in 2016 with a record number of virtualized deployments, and I'm looking forward to being a key part of continuing to drive the growth of Procera in 2017 and beyond."

Fremont, Calif.-based Procera provides virtualized networking platforms for the enterprise, government and communication providers. The company touts its technology as key for tier-one and tier-two mobile and Wi-Fi operators around the world.

In a statement, Procera CEO Lyn Cantor said Carter's operational expertise will "be a vital part" of scaling the company's sales force.

Last month, Procera unveiled a joint offering with Brocade Communications that combines Brocade's Envision Fabric visibility product with Procera's eVolution Virtual Experience Probe to give mobile operators greater visibility and real-time access into deeper network, subscriber and traffic intelligence.
