Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise Appoints New Channel Sales Leader To Expand North American Partner Base

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise says it has hired a former Nokia executive to head the company's North American channel sales as part of its strategy to drive growth through channel partners.

The new hire, Lisa Simpson (pictured), is ALE's new vice president of channel sales and distribution in North America, responsible for driving revenue growth through partners by expanding the vendor's reseller and distribution base.

"Lisa's appointment reinforces our commitment to business growth through the channel and support for our customers in North America’s vertical markets," said Charles Matthews, ALE's senior vice president for North America, in a statement. "Lisa will use her skills and experience to grow sustainable revenue for ALE through the channel and develop a collaborative knowledge-sharing environment where ALE and its partners can meet the digital transformation needs of customers."

Simpson spent 15 years at Nokia in various executive sales roles, including her last position as senior director of partner sales, in which she was responsible for building and developing partner programs with strategic technology partner AT&T.

Simpson will also be responsible for developing new opportunities to support partners in two key vertical markets -- education and transportation -- that are critical to growth in North America.

"Her experience in the industry, combined with her high-energy approach, will prove invaluable both to us and our partners as we expand the success of our network and communications portfolio with a focus on education and transportation customers," said Matthews.

ALE has more than 2,900 channel partners worldwide to support its 830,000 customers.
