Netgear Unveils Gigabit PC Card For Notebooks

"Most workplace environments are migrating to notebook computers for employees,: said Kartik Gada, Netgear produce line manager, in a statement, "and Gigabit speeds can allow users to transfer huge CAD, video, or database files quickly. In the home network, the transfer of full-length movie files is also made quick with Gigabit."

The PC Card, which comes with Netgear's Smart Wizard Install Assistant for easy installation, operates with Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98SE and NDIS 2.0.

The firm said the device can transfer data at speeds of up to 1000 Mbps. The Gigabit PC Card is backward compatible with Ethernet 10 and 100 Mbps products.
