D-Link Unveils Enterprise PoE Access Point

The DWL-2200AP has built-in 802.1x, WPA and AES security support and is upgradeable to WPA2, the company said in a statement. Its PoE support enables it to operate in remote areas that don't have nearby power outlets.

In addition, the access point supports SNMP, enabling network managers to manage the device via either a Web interface or Telnet, the company said. The AP also supports Wireless Distribution System, enabling to act not only as an access point, but also as a wireless repeater and both as a AP-to-AP and point-to-multipoint bridge.

The company said the access point will be available in mid-September for $199.99.
