With the demand for low-cost networking products and solutions growing, the need for long-range Wi-Fi is also increasing. EnGenius’ new line of long-range EnStation wireless access points address both the call for speed and a low price tag.

’The demand for long-range Wi-Fi definitely is growing. From the cost perspective, without laying down the cable, you’re definitely saving a lot of money,’ said Director of Product Management Eric Chen.

Earlier this year, EnGenius released the EnStation5 and EnStation2. The two long-range access points are both IEEE 802.11 a/n compliant, and cost about $100.

Chen cited the cost of acquiring equipment that can perform at high speeds as a major barrier for users. As the self-proclaimed ’established market leader in this long-range field,’ Chen said the EnStation model access points can deliver up to 300 Mbps in a two- to five-mile range.

Chen also said the on-boarding process for resellers looking to partner with EnGenius could not be easier, with the company supplying on-site, hands-on training.

’The learning curve for our reseller is near to zero,’ Chen said.
