CRNtv Exclusive: Cisco Exec Says Partners Can Expect Continuity After Cisco's Viptela Acquisition

CRN's Mark Haranas spoke with Cisco Vice President of Product Management Ramesh Prabagaran during the XChange 2017 conference in Orlando, Fla., this week about Cisco's recent acquisition of Viptela.

"One of the fundamental things we are bringing into the Cisco ecosystem is our cloud-delivered model. So, partners can take the cloud-hosted model that we have and offer it as a service," said Prabagaran, who served as vice president of product management at Viptela prior to the acquisition.

He mentioned that a number of MSPs, systems integrators and solution providers already are headed pretty far down the SD-WAN path.

"We're really helping partners gain access to this technology so that they can have the control and better differentiate their practices around it," he said.

Prabagaran also discussed Cisco's product roadmap, which he said has been shared with a few partners and generated very positive feedback.

"One of the key things we want to drive here is transformation, but at the same time we want to assure our channel partners that there will be continuity, and that they will get to play a big role in this transformation."
