Solution providers who work with content management systems will have opportunities to integrate the appliance with back-end systems as a result of Code Green’s partnerships with EMC Documentum and Stellent, Hay said. The startup plans to bring the appliance to market through a channel program built around sales training and technical certification, he added. Large corporations are in the process of figuring out how to manage unstructured content such as documents, spreadsheets and e-mail, said Cynthia Wood, vice president of sales and solutions at Gimmal Group, a Houston-based Code Green channel partner that focuses on integration of enterprise content management solutions. “Many companies just store this content on a collaborative system or shared drive, which can be costly because it lacks management capability,” she said.
Arsenio Batoy, president of Optical Laser, a Huntington Beach, Calif.-based value-added distributor that focuses on the content management space, said being able to track movement of all content and file types will be key to Code Green’s success. “Unless you cover all files, it’s just not going to work,” he said.
