Apptix Offering Hosted Antispam Service

The solution is based on Clearswift's antispam and content filtering tools, Apptix said. Called SpamActive, the solution downloads the latest spam databases from Clearswift's ThreatLabs and updates e-mail filtering policies daily.

Apptix said it is also adopting Clearswift's e-Sweeper, which analyzes keywords in e-mail as well as the context in which they are being used. E-mails matching antispam policies are either blocked or sent into a separate inbox.

The content filtering piece of Clearswift's solution gives service providers the ability to manage in-bound and outbound e-mail content, the company said.

Apptix said the underlying technology for all of its solutions is its Tecos service automation and management platform.

In March, Apptix kicked off the new version of its Tecos service automation and management platform with an aggressive VAR recruitment program.

In the past, Apptix has partnered with service providers such as Digex and XO Communications, but now the software vendor said it also wants to work with VARs interested in rebranding application services developed on the Tecos platform as their own.
