IP Dynamics VPN Solution, Channel Program On Tap

IP Dynamics said its new VCNpro Series, for Virtual Community Network,is two to 10 times less expensive than SSL and IPsec VPN solutions and connects up to 5,000 users.

VCNpro also requires no gateways since the technology is housed on a host server, said Hasan Alkhatib, founder, chairman and CEO of IP Dynamics, San Jose, Calif. VCNpro also requires minimal administration, Alkhatib said.

"With the install, solution providers only need to install a virtual driver on the end PC, and this virtual driver is a download that self-installs and requires zero configuration," he said. "Once this install is made, PCs have the ability to join the virtual network."

With the virtual pipe established, solution providers are able to offer an abundance of services, said Rick Maharaj, director of professional services at San Mateo, Calif.-based Marsys, an MSP catering to the enterprise.

"We are able to offer video over many protocol stacks or offer any IP-based applications such as SQL applications, Oracle applications, SAP applications and so on through this pipe, and invoke them from another location," Maharaj said.

Marsys is one of the first solution providers to join IP Dynamics' new Dynamic Partner program, which targets VARs, MSPs and carriers. Program offerings include a demo system at a discount, lead sharing, listing on a Dynamic Partner Locator, quarterly sales and marketing toolkits, eligibility for promotions programs, sales training, discounts on IP Dynamics' software and access to early software releases.

VARs are required to install and operate a demo system, meet agreed-upon sales forecasts, qualify leads, meet a minimum number of lead-generation/marketing activities per year, have at least two certified IP Dynamics systems engineers and provide technical support.

MSPs have to install and operate the VPN solutions, have a regional sales force, meet minimum sales and lead-generation requirements and provide a high level of technical support for managed services.

Carriers must offer carrier-class DSL, wireless or multiprotocol label switching services that can be bundled with IP Dynamics solutions, install and operate the services, have two trained engineers on staff and provide technical support.
