Network Associates Names Donna Troy New Channel Chief

In this new role, Troy will be responsible for channel strategy, program development and execution for the company across all regions including North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific, Japan and Latin America.

Troy most recently served as CEO of Partnerware, a software company that addressed the business problems of channel management and operations, according to Network Associates. Prior to that Troy worked at Tivoli Systems, where she was the vice president of worldwide channels responsible for revenue growth through indirect sales channels and strategic alliances.

Troy began her career at International Business Machines where she spent 20 years in a number of senior management positions in marketing and sales.

Network Associates, Santa Clara, Calif., said the appointment underscores the company's continued commitment to the channel. "Our channel partners are a critical piece of Network Associates' business," said Kevin Weiss, executive vice president of worldwide sales for Network Associates in statement. "Donna's leadership and experience in building and growing successful channel organizations that align with and complement direct field sales will be invaluable as we continue to aggressively target the small and medium size business market."

For some solution providers, Troy will have big shoes to fill. Menegay, who had worked at Network Associates for about two years, revamped the company's channel program and worked to restore trust among its channel partners. In the past, some solution provider had accused the company of courting their customers directly.
