Under the agreement, Comark will add MessageLabs' Internet-level e-mail scanning service to its antivirus offerings.

The partnership is a major step in MessageLabs' channel strategy. The U.K-based company established U.S. operations here last and year and embarked on building partnerships with VARs, ISPs and systems integrators.

MessageLabs said it is focusing on partnering with companies like Comark that have experience selling security-related products and services. The company plans to announce more partners soon.

MessageLabs' managed antivirus service, SkyScan AV, scans and blocks viruses at the Internet level rather than at the desktop, server or network gateway.
