Gateway Intros All-In-One Slim PC For Businesses

The Gateway Profile 5 combines a flat-panel LCD screen -- available in three sizes: 15, 17, and 19-inch -- and a computer into a single unit, the guts of the machine fitting behind the display. Together, they form a footprint smaller than a typical tube-based monitor, said Gateway.

Unlike earlier Profiles, this one boasts a chassis that can be opened, and thus serviced by IT, to replace such components as the motherboard.

Sold in several configurations, with some sporting an integrated 802.11g-based wireless connection, the Profile 5's pricing ranges from $1,099 to $2,499. Options include optical DVD-RW/CD-RW drives, Intel Pentium 4 (with hyperthreading) or Celeron processors, and hard drives with capacities from 40GB to 160GB.

All models of the Profile 5 include six USB ports (two at the side of the system) and a pair of FireWire ports.
