McAfee Lures Another EMC Sales Executive

McAfee Wednesday named Michael DeCesare, former senior vice president and co-general manager in EMC's Content Management and Archiving Business unit, as its new executive vice president of worldwide sales.

DeCesare takes over a position held since October 2006 by Roger King, former president of Software Spectrum, who will assume the newly created position of executive vice president of worldwide channel operations.

In March, McAfee named David DeWalt, former head of EMC's software group, as its next president and CEO. Like DeWalt, DeCesare joined EMC in 2003 through the Hopkinton, Mass.-based vendor's $1.7 billion acquisition of Documentum, where he was senior vice president of worldwide field operations.

Prior to joining Documentum, DeCesare spent 12 years at Oracle, where he held a variety of sales management positions.

"Having worked with Michael at Oracle, EMC and Documentum, I witnessed firsthand his extensive sales expertise and proven success in generating new revenue. Michael's experience in working with the channel will create a powerful team with Roger," DeWalt said in a statement.
